I'm going to guess that you are using a DirectInput controller. We added additional controller support about a year ago - this made it so DirectInput controllers were natively supported by the game. I'll try removing x360ce and seeing if it changes anything. Therefore, I believe it's an issue somehow introduced during this 'integration' with BT. I got to playing it again after it came to my knowledge that having Battleblock Theater unlocked a new character and wanted to check it out. The weirdest part about it is that the game worked fine before with the controller (some 2 years ago, when I last played). Still, it works for some games without x360ce, and those that require it also work perfectly. My controller is not a Microsoft one (it's actually some random chinese brand, I believe), and I couldn`t get the game to work without it. Originally posted by cesarbbernardi:Yes, I am using x360ce. I have taken some screenshots, which can be viewed here and here. As long as the controller was plugged, I could chose two characters. I tried unplugging the keyboard and starting a new game, but to no avail. As soon as the screen transitioned to another zone, both characters were back. I even tried allowing one of my characters to die in order to use only one, but to no avail. Thus, I had essentially duplicated characters on screen, which makes gameplay quite weird. The keyboard did nothing, and both characters were only moved by the controller. I chose one character, then the selection 'wheel' was made available again in the player 2 slot.Īt first, I thought this could be an input issue (I was using a controller and a keyboard plugged to my laptop, so I thought the game could be identifying both as possible player controllers). I tried playing Castle Crashers today, and I was able to select two characters in the selection screen.
